May Blog Hop – Saying Good Bye to Your Favorites

Happy Day, Stampers! The Glitter Queens are saying Good Bye to some favorites. The new Annual Catalog is about to be released – such an exciting time!! We take this opportunity to say good bye to some of our retiring products before we say “Hello” to our new favorites.

My retiring product highlight is the Gift Bag Punch Board. There are so many items you can make with this tool. I’ve created 3 items to share with you today: 1) the typical gift bag, 2) a triangle box, and 3) a Gift/Voucher Pocket.

Basic Directions for Layout #1 (Gift Bag)

Following the direction on the punch board, create a gift bag. For this one I used DSP because I wanted to show both sides. Before I punched the ribbon holes, I folded down the top inch or so of the gift bag. Then decorate as desired.

Basic Directions for Layout #2 (Triangle Box)

Start with DSP or cardstock that 6 ½” x 7”. You can make it longer than 7”, based on the item you will put inside. With the 6 ½” side at the top of the Gift Bag Punch Board:

Align to Start Line, punch and horizontal side, score on “Side 2” line
Bring score line to Start Line, punch, horizontal score and score on “Side 2” line
Repeat and do a last punch
Repeat on other side: Turn Top/Bottom AND Flip – see picture 2a
Trim off smallest tabs, trim (miter) tabs to work with a triangle fold. – see picture 2b

Basic Directions for Layout #3 (Gift/Voucher Pocket)

Start with a piece of cardstock 8 ¼” x 8 ¼”. Score the horizontal line all the way across the top. Align the left side wit the Start Line and score on the Large score line. Move the cardstock left to line up the scored line with the Start Line. Punch and score the Large line again. More the cardstock one more time left lining the vertical score line with the Start Line and punch. Turn the cardstock around to create the top. Score the horizontal line all the way across the top. Line up each of the vertical score lines with the Start Line and punch only.

Then all is needed is a bit of trimming. Picture 3a below is what it looks like after the punch board work. Picture 3b is what it looks like after the excess trimming. I also used a 1” circle punch for a ½ circle thumb space. See 3c for finished assembly.
